The Chimay Première is the oldest of the Chimays. Its coppery color and sweet, fruity taste make it a particularly tasty dark ale. This non-profit foundation was created in 1996 upon the initiative of the monastic community of Scourmont Abbey.
Desiring to separate its monastic vocation from the economic preoccupations generated by the development of the enterprises that they have taken upon themselves (brewery, cheese factory, inn, etc.), the Community of Scourmont monks then established the Foundation for the activities of their companies.
